TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET is a tricyclic antidepressant. It works by increasing the levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, primarily serotonin and norepinephrine by inhibiting their reuptake into nerve cells, which helps to improve mood and relieve symptoms of depression.
How to use TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET
- Take TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET as advised by your physician.
- Swallow the medicine with a glass of water.
- Do not crush or chew the medicine.
- Do not stop taking TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET without consulting your doctor.

Like all medicines, TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET may cause few side effects although not everybody gets them
Common side effects of TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET:
- Sleepiness/drowsiness
- Shivering or shakiness of hands or other body parts
- Dizziness, headache, tiredness
- Irregular heartbeat
- Dizziness while standing up or changing posture
- Dry mouth, constipation, nausea, excessive thirst
- Excessive sweating
- Weight gain, changes in taste,
- Slurred or slow speech
- Vision problems, nasal congestion, dilated pupils
- Confusion, lack of attention, unable to walk properly
- Sexual disturbances (low sex-drive, problems with erection)
- Tingling and numbness of arms or legs
- Problems in urination
- Stop taking TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Suicidal thoughts (thoughts of harming or killing themselves), anxiety
Mania (profuse and rapidly changing ideas, exaggerated gaiety and excessive physical activity)
Warning & Precautions
- Pregnancy - TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET should be used during pregnancy only if it is considered clearly necessary by the physician. Your doctor will prescribe this medicine only if it benefits the mother and justifies the risk to the fetus.
- Breastfeeding TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET may pass through breast milk. Therefore, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
- Driving and Using Machines - TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Therefore, do not drive or handle any heavy tools or machineries until your concentration becomes clear after taking this medicine.
- Alcohol - It is advised to avoid alcohol consumption while undergoing therapy with TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET as it could increase your drowsiness.
- Liver - TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease.
- Allergy - Do not take TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET if you are allergic to Amitriptyline or any other ingredients of this medicine.
- Heart Disease - TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients who suffered a recent heart attack or have heart problems such as disturbances in heart rhythm, or coronary artery disease. It should be used with caution in patients with heart problems such as slow heart rate or difficulty in pumping blood, etc.
- Use In Pediatrics - TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). However, your doctor may prescribe it to you after considering the risks and benefits.
- Use In Geriatrics - TRYPTOMER 25MG TABLET should be used with extreme caution in elderly patients as it could increase of fall due to its tendency to cause dizziness and hypotension. Therefore, caregivers should closely monitor the elderly patients.
